The building was the Silver Award winner of the 2005 Emporis Skyscraper Award, coming in second to Turning Torso in Sweden.
World Tower was the 2004 Bronze recipient of the Emporis Skyscraper Award, and was briefly Australia's tallest residential building.
In a competition against 467 new buildings taller than, The Wave was the recipient of the 2006 Silver Emporis Skyscraper Award.
In 2014, The Shard claimed first place at the Emporis Skyscraper Awards, recognising buildings over completed in the previous twelve months.
In 2007 the building was awarded the Hague New City Prize and the international Emporis Skyscraper Award, with Emporis citing " its elegant reinterpretation of classic ironing appliance.
The building received a Best Tall Building Americas award from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat ( CTBUH ) and was in first place in the EMPORIS Skyscraper Awards.
The tower was designed by Perkins + Will Canada, and completed in 2001, and went on to win the Emporis Skyscraper Award for the Best New Skyscraper the same year.
Emporis selected the F & F Tower among the top 10 best skyscrapers of the year in 2011, ranking it 7th out of the 10 Emporis Skyscraper Award winners for its architectural excellence regarding the design of building and its functionality.
