During seismic design , analysis and research , the strong ground motion records usually should be selected to simulate the earthquake load . because of the strong randomicity and complexity in earthquake , there are thousands of motion records have been accumulated . facing so many records , how to choose the best one to the design structure often make the structural designer at loose ends . this difficulty also limits the time history analysis / method widely and effectively used 在工程抗震设计、研究和分析中，往往需要选择真实的强震记录以代表地震对结构的作用。由于地震事件本身的强随机性及影响因素的复杂性，地震动的表现形式也是千差万别，设计人员面对这些强震记录常感到无所适从。这种情况的存在也极大的限制了时程分析法应用的广泛性与有效性。
