The brush must be held upright and each and every stroke is clean , clear and sharp so that the expertise , i . e . the readers of the painting can read and enjoy them . it is like enjoying delicious food and drink . every bite and sip gives endless pleasures , apart from the fact that they are nutritious . that is why through the ages , the sage knows food is to nourish the body , art is to nourish the soul 其种种奇趣，笔中有墨，墨中有笔，有笔亦有墨，笔墨混沌氤氲，种种变化，自然涌出纸上，但必须笔笔中锋，笔笔俐落干净，可以供读画人数得出来会意，其趣韵，犹如美饮佳食，咀嚼含吮，醇鲜馨甘，回味无穷，满口腹自然生津，一片营养，所以说，历来智者知书画之益生，有甚于饮食者，其妙即在斯。
