The test results showed that the maximum lateral deformation of homogeneous soft soil appeared in 2 ~ 7 meters underground . so , we consider that the method , which depends on the lateral deformation values of surface observation pile to control the stability of soft - soil foundation during construction , is unreasonable . the test also indicated that soft - soil foundation could still support larger load after the initial failure of soft - soil foundation had been occurred 我们通过对试验的结果分析比较，认为荷载作用下均质软土地基的最大侧向位移一般发生在地表下2 7米的深度处，而施工中以地表观测桩观测的侧向位移来控制施工过程中的稳定性是不合理的；试验表明当软土地基发生早期破坏时，仍然能承受较大的外加荷载，对周围土体的强度提高有利，为在软土地基上进行“促动法”施工提供了依据。
