  本文选择mapinfo地理信息系统作为开发平台，结合microsoftaccess数据库工具和visualbasic编程语言，利用丰富的专家知识，经过集成二次开发，深入分析了几种典型城市道路交通信息在地理信息数据库中的处理技术，设计和实现了数据录入、数据维护、数据查询、分析处理、数据输出等功能，对道路交通信息的空间数据和属性数据进行了一一对应的处理。并进一步提出将公安交通管理全部业务按信息化系统的需要划分为：交通基础设施管理系统、公共交通管理系统、交通调查管理系统、交通秩序管理系统四个系统，每个系统下面分为若干子系统，从而细化了城市道路交通管理的业务。
